French Allure

Shooting "French Allure"

A «French Allure» is one of my series which I photographed in the Museé Rodin, Paris.
My collaboration with the museum Rodin spans over ten years.

In memory of my time as an art student, studying Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel’s sculpting, I had the opportunity in 2010 to shoot for my first time at the museum.

In 2015 I chose Rodin’s Atelier and home in Meudon, a very special place.
It was very emotional for me to receive permission to shoot in this space.
I have had a kind of sculptor’s look in mind, a link between fashion and art..capturing a creative working process.

We started to tie the glamorous dresses with ropes around the model so that the girl appears half covered, half nacked and I posed her in front of the «The Gate of Hell» («La Port de ‘Enfe ») but I missed something, something extra.

I posed a very ‘old hammer’ (an heirloom of my Grandfather), a simple tool beside the posed model, remembering the photograph by Eugene Druet at Rodin which he has taken in 1900.
